Final Message

Thanks everyone for taking part, particularly because we have managed to raise over £2000 for my two chosen charities - Hertfordshire Homestart and Sidmouth Hospicecare.

It was a massive entry which I think proves the enjoyment of the format.   Hope you enjoyed it.

Now to prizes

Congratulations to Michael Spalding who wins the competition and takes 25% of the prize fund - £3000.

He was never far from the top of the table but had to fight off a large numbe rof challengers, some of whom only fell away at the end.

Joint second : Jake Hyman and Jay Pitchford - £1318 each

Joint 4th : Bradley Bateup, Dan Brett, Daniel Lewis, Jamie Geffin, John Howells, Killian Conroy, Patrick Berkeley - £430 each

Joint 11th : Andy Brunger, Darren Lamb, James Corbett, Jim Fender - £125 each  (Darren came 3rd last year)

Joint 15th : Caitlin Buchan, Darren Haygarth, David Mylroi, Lorna Newman, Luke Casey, Marie Wallace, Sam Winter, Samuel Buckland, Steve Wynne - £14 each

Most Under Par Holes : Sebastian Brett - £251

Thursday score: James Dawkins, Tom Skinner - £125 each

Friday score : Jordan Welsby, Stuart Bywater - £125 each

Saturday score : Paul Leaver - £251

Sunday score : Susan Higgins - £251

Well done to all and see you in April!

Jeff

I have tripled check the scores and the provisional prizes are loaded (still 50 to collect)

So that's it.  Final tables are up.  I will double check the scores and send out a summary but congrats to Michael Spalding who wins by a shot.

If IM birdies we will have a tie I think.  Not to be Daniel.

Spalding drops a shot!

Daniel Lewis moves up to 19 under in a tie for 2nd

My nephew Patrick Berkeley on the sofa at home eating cheeseballs was 3rd in this competition - same age as IM who is 3rd in Masters - and then Rahm bogied 17!

Seb Brett in line for a prize in Under Pars contest

Michael Spalding 2 shots clear!

No more scorecard updates until end of play - please watch the tables

Susan Higgins moves to 9 under today

Big crowd on 6 under today now

Harry Roberts has taken Ian Copcoat's place in the lead for Sunday

I think Sam Arora was the highest ranked entrant that had Woods on 12 - he moves from 9th to 117th .  Ouch

Ah, wish I hadn't said that.

By the way, McIlroy was lowest score on days 2-3 combined and he is 3 under today too.

Ian Copcoat and Kelly Miller are 6 under today

Michael Spalding moves to 19 under by himself.  Unsurprisingly he is leading the Under Par table but Martin Earl is 2nd despite being 167th overall

Oh wow - 40 people have Woods on the 12th - are you one?  That's a 10!

A DJ wobble?

Harry Fildes picked the best golfers so far (average -9.2) - but he is down in 102nd.  Best hole selection was by Alan Wyllie 1 - he is in 56th

Charlie Foster is down in 1239th place depsite having all 6 golers still in action - really 'exceptional' hole selection Charlie

Carl Mcclean is leading the charge for the Sunday prize on 5 under thanks to Cameron Champs 3 birdoes on the first 3 holes.  Luckily he missed his treble on the 4th.

He is 3 off the lead on 14 under with John Howells having dropped a shot.

MIchael Spalding drops a shot on the 4th with Adam Scott, leaving John Howells in top spot by himself

Woods eagle chip lips out on 2nd hole

Westwood birdies 2nd as well! Rob Mullane - you have that one just to yourself!

Westwood approach shot on the 1st misses the hole by an inch.  Tap in birdie.  Alasdair Dunn, William Thomas and Judy Spalding off to a great start.

It's a bit foggy out there this morning as Matt Wallace tees off - he has a treble bogey - luckily no one has that hole

Final Round Sunday

When you look at your scorecards now, you can switch between rounds easily.

Play starts at 1pm and I will start collecting scores from the off.  For those in the running for the big prizes there is a Top 21 page.

Paul Demby has scored the most number of pars (43)

Michael Spalding has scored the most number of birdies (22)

Auguste Ramonaite and Stephen Bristow have scored the most number of eagles (5)

....and there is no table for this but Ed Kneale has had 5 double bogeys and there are a few that have had 2 trebles!

Close of play Saturday

Thank goodness we have caught up with the schedule.  Congratulations to Paul Leaver who takes the Saturday prize with a score of 9 under. Paul sits at tied 4th.

Our co-leaders are John Howells and Michael Spalding but there is a tight field behind them if they slip up tomorrow.

Michael also leads the Under Par holes table - but he can only win 1 prize so maybe David Watts, Sara Springett or Sebastian Brett can win something?

Remember that there are money prizes for the top 15 places.

Definitely missing the atmosphere this year but hopefully someone can mount a challenge to DJ.

Paul Leaver steps forward!

There's now a 7-way tie for the Saturday prize - will anyone get the £200 birdie?

Jay Pitchford has moved up to a share of 2nd, just 1 shot behind our leader John Howells

Glyn Theobald is now 7 under today and leading the race for Saturday

Mrs K is looking after me...still haven't told her though

Justin Webb is 6 under today and leading the race for the Saturday prize.  Mrs K's remaining 4 golfers are +7 today.  She is rank last today.  Glad she is not watching.

John Howells goes 2 shots clear with 4 birdies from 6 holes

Round 3

Bogies for missed cuts are now included in the table for both Saturday and Sunday and we have a couple of new names at the top - Alex Needs, Jamie Mackie and John Howells join Ian Troy on 13 under.

End of Round 2

Jordan Welsby and Stuart Bywater share the prize for the lowest 2nd round score (-9).  Note that the Saturday and Sunday prizes will be based on the golfers who made the cut so even if you lost golfers to the cut, you still have a chance.

Ian Troy and Stuart Bywater lead on 14 under.  But now we will see the leaderboard change as we push through the bogies for all those golfers that have missed the cut.

The Under Par holes table is still led by Sara Springett.

Jordan Welsby goes to 9 under for the 2nd round and a share of that lead with Stuart

Stuart Bywater takes the lead on 14 under but he has Hatton who will miss the cut.  Ian Troy joins him on 14 under

Most under-par holes - 3-way tie between Daniel Douet, Michael Spalding and Sara Springett

Bad luck for Mark Harrison and Pete Brewer - Vijay Singh has withdrawn - bogies for his remaining holes I am afraid.

Follows the withdrawal yesterday of Van Rooyen which affected 7 people

Great Masters website www.masters.com  You can watch almost any player on any hole.  Helpful as TV coverage seems to focus on just a small number of players.

Did you see DeChambeau lose a ball just a few steps from the fairway on the 3rd yesterday?  No spectators to help find it.  Now he knows how it feels.

A few housekeeping points

There were a few issues with links yesterday, hopefully sorted.

Also a couple of times the auto feed seemed to have incorrect scores for golfers, but they were subsequently corrected, but thanks for highlighting those.

There is a lot of data to update so I will continue to update tables before scorecards - therefore you might see discrepancies but the table is the more up to date score

I will send out scoring alerts using the golf@maple3.co.uk email address from now on, so to avoid those emails going to spam, please add it into your contacts

Saturday 14th November  The golfers will be out early this morning to get the 2nd round finished.  Hopefully we will get the 3rd round completed today

11pm At close of play we have a 7-way tie at the top on 13 under.  But it is still very close with 65 people within 3 shots of the lead and round Augusta that can be won/lost in a couple of shots. Daniel Douet has moved up into a share of lead with a round of 10 under today with 3 holes still to play - he is on track to take the Friday prize.

10.30pm Ancer and Smith top of the leaderboard - picked by only 48 out of 1264 entries

10pm  Oh no, live coverage of the Masters will start from 12.30pm (UK time) tomorrow.  10 hours of TV golf.  Mrs K will not be pleased.

9.30pm Daniel Douet has a share of the lead for the Friday prize (-8 on the day)

A bit more data now on the  main table.  Pete Young actually picked the best golfers so far - but he is down at 965th on 1 under.  He just didn't get the right holes.

9pm  DeChambeau on +2.  He was the most selected player (x625) and looks like he will miss the cut.  You can see how many players were picked on each hole on the 'Hole Matrix' link above

8pm The table takes a whole new look with Bulldog Bear on 13 under - hope your luck holds up Steve.  8 under today.

Jeremy Redgewell was the first entry this year and he is up there at 12 under.

Go Christina! on 11 under (and thanks for the message)

Round 2 - you will find new links to your round 2 score card on the main table (or the mini league tables). If you had bookmarked your page, just change the 1st digit from a 1 to a 2.  And you will be able to click to your round 1 scorecard from your round 2 scorecard.  Hopefully that will make sense when you look at it.

Sorry for the interruption in service!

Website is updated for the conclusion of Round 1.  A 3-way tie for the Thursday prize between James Dawkins, Tom Skinner and Michael Spalding.  Well done.

I am now pulling in the scores for Round 2 which is obviously well underway and will catch up as soon as I can.

Apologies - going to be offline for a few hours but will catch up this evening.

Van Rooyen has withdrawn from the tournament.  Very bad luck for those 7 that picked him - bogies for the next 3 rounds.  Sorry those are the rules!

Friday 13th Nov  The mini leagues are now up - thanks for your patience.  If I have missed anyone out please let me know - easy to add.

Close of play Round not quite completed, will be finished tomorrow. In fact, Andy Swan and Andy Perchard have only played 9 holes and are well place on 6 under.

11 under is an amazing score for the first day.  I am not sure we have had such a low scoring day before in our competition.  A very impressive card for James Dawkins.  James will take the prize for the best round of the day (at least) if he can stay top until the final round is completed.

For those new to this game, the key is to get your 6 golfers through to the weekend. Any that miss the cut score bogies for rounds 3 & 4.

Tom Skinner has moved up to 10 under too.

PAYMENTS

I am still struggling to find a number of missing payments.

If you are still showing NO on the table, please let me know, when and to which account you paid and what reference I should look for.  I know there has been some problems with Revolut (won't use that method again) but if people haven't paid by this morning, they will be non-qualifying and we will have to adjust the prize fund.

10pm Dale Stypula is leading the race for the most number of holes under par (tied with Luke Casey)

9pm Birdies galore James and Luke go 9 under. Easy game

8pm Apologies there was a issue with the links on the scoring alerts - but it should be OK from now on

7pm Brook Oxon now on 7 under along with Luke Casey and James Dawkins

6pm Gavin Black goes top with a score of 5 under.  The members at Augusta will not like this kind of scoring.

4pm   Dennis Burger and George Bevan-Thomas are the early leaders with a birdie from Charles Howell III - we are away!

And now a clutch of people on 2 under already. Are you watching Bryson?

I was just saying yesterday to someone, wouldn’t it be great if Westwood could win the Masters!  Come on Westie!

Welcome to the Masters !!
I have never been so pleased to see golf rained off – it gives me a chance to catch up a bit.

What an amazing entry.  With a last few checking queries I make it 1262.  I did think about capping it at 1000 because I fear my laptop’s chips are going to melt this weekend but the great news is that is we have raised an amazing sum for my 2 charities – around £1900. Thank you for your support. They are definitely personal picks for me and probably less well known to many of you so I do appreciate it.

Now to business.

Obviously the massive entry has created an admin nightmare in terms of matching payments to the entrants.  I think we have broken the back of that now (thanks Mrs K!) but a few loose ends to tie up.  If you see a big red NO next to your entry, bear in mind that you are at risk of being non-qualifying for prizes, so please help me out!

Now on the website, you can see a massive league table.  On the table you can now link to everyone’s scorecard.  There has been a massive request for mini leagues , which again I worry will challenge my processing speeds but I will try to get them in place, but it might be much later today.

If you see something that doesn't look right, please let me know.  Given the size of data here I will update main league table, mini league tables and scorecards in that order.

Enjoy the competition.

Jeff Keen

The Masters is probably the most watched golf major of the year – and this is your chance to get involved.

Enter my competition - it's very simple but will keep your interest throughout the 4 days.

How it works

Simply pick 6 golfers and nominate 3 different holes for each golfer so that you cover the whole 18-hole course.

How to enter

The Entry form and instructions can be found at the links above.

The best way to enter is to use the excel Entry form and email it to me at jeff@maple3.co.uk

Don't worry you don't need to be a golf expert.

The competition is open to all so please feel free to invite your family and friends.

Entry is £10 and must be in by midnight Wednesday 11th November. No late entries.

Last year the prize fund reached £7757 (with £909 going to charity) - so plenty to play for. Multiple entries are allowed.

This year we will be donating 15% of the prize fund to two chosen charities - see the link above for more information.

Just to be clear, this is strictly non-profit.  15% goes to charity and 85% goes to the Prize Fund

For details of the different ways you can pay go to the How to Pay link.

How to keep track

Watch this website and during the tournament I will send out scoring alerts as your golfers sink their putts. Almost as good as being there!

Hope you decide to enter - don't miss the deadline
